International Trade and Customs Law wing of ILA represents exporters, importers and domestic manufacturers in various trade remedial cases in India and other foreign jurisdictions.


Our Member Law Firms (MLFs) have represented various exporters, importers and users across several industries including chemicals, rubber, paper, pharmaceuticals, steel, high technology goods in antidumping, safeguards and countervailing proceedings before authorities including the Directorate General of Antidumping, Directorate General of Safeguards, Customs, Excise and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal, High Court, Supreme Court worldwide and the European Commission.


Our MLFs have also advised exporters worldwide on anti-circumvention investigations in other jurisdictions.


Our MLFs have also frequently called upon to render advice to various organisations such as Ministry of Commerce in different countries, and UNCTAD on WTO policy matters.


Our MLFs have inter alia undertaken studies and prepared policy material on WTO compatibility of border measures taken by certain WTO Member against worldwide exports, pricing policies including “dual pricing” on natural resources and natural resources based products, Mode 4 offers and QRP/LRP procedures, Disciplines on domestic regulation pursuant to GATS Article VI:4, India’s position on emerging disciplines on Fisheries subsidies.


Our MLFs have extensive experience in the area of Customs laws as well as the Foreign Trade Policy. Our MLFs have advised clients from diverse sectors and industries on matters related to customs laws and procedures. Our MLFs regularly represents importers and exporters before different authorities and Ministries worldwide on tariff concessions, issues relating to tariff classifications, customs valuation and also matters relating to customs enforcement. Our MLFs also represent clients in matters related to Customs as well as Foreign Trade Policy before judicial and quasi-judicial authorities, including the Customs, Excise, Service Tax Appellate Tribunal (CESTAT), Authority on Advance Rulings and Settlement Commission.
